Pink pirates take over Bristol

Pink pirates take over Bristol

Stuck for ideas for your Pink Friday? Take inspiration from Enable Interactive, Breast Cancer Care's Bristol-based web agency who organised a whole afternoon of pink-themed fun and raised over £1000 in the bargain!

They began the day by choosing a pink pirate theme, presumably to tie in to Bristol's rich maritime history! They then all got a bus to Bristol Zoo where they went to see the flamingos (obviously) and then they danced a conga line all the way from the zoo to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Finally, slightly exhausted from their epic conga, they found a nearby park where they had a 'pink-nic' with prawn cocktail crisps, strawberry cakes and pink doughnuts (ok not very healthy but certainly in keeping with the spirit of the day...).

It just goes to show that a little imagination can go a long way; all the Enable staff had a great afternoon out together and raised a really impressive amount for Breast Cancer Care as well. Remember if you are still struggling for what to do you can check out our ideas page.

I've been an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care for five years now and I always look forward to October. It's a chance to get all my friends and family together, have fun and make a real difference. Three thousand people people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this October alone. By holding a Pink Friday party, however small, you will help to ensure Breast Cancer Care can be there for each and every one of them. I'm going to see if I can organise one in the office this year - it's about time they donned some silly pink outfits!
