Make a cake, or two

Make a cake or two, this Pink Friday!

Who doesn't love cake? Our sweet tooth always gets that little bit sweeter on a Friday!

Cake sale

Get baking for friends, family, classmates or colleagues. We think the fancier your cake, the more you can charge for it!

Bake-off

Why not have a bake-off? The Pink Fridays team will each be making their favourite cakes and the fundraising department will be choosing the Pink Friday cake of the year! After the tasting, all cakes will be on sale to our staff in the building and we're hoping to raise lots of money.

"By taking part in Pink Fridays you’ll be helping to support the 127 people who have been diagnosed today and the 127 people who will be diagnosed tomorrow and every day afterwards. With the help of other mums we can all do our bit for Breast Cancer Care; how about putting your baking skills to the test for a Pink Fridays Cupcake Sale at your child’s school? I know that pretty pink cupcakes as a special Friday treat would go down a storm with my daughter’s friends – and hopefully the teachers too thinking about it!"

The perfect Pink Friday cupcake!

For 20-ish cakes, you will need:

  • 125g soft unsalted butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 225g plain flour
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 100ml milk

Preheat your oven to 180°C/gas mark 4. Cream together the butter and sugar (if you have an electric whisk, whisk until the mixture is pale and fluffy). Slowly add the beaten egg, mixing as you go. Fold in the sifted flour and baking powder. Add the milk and keep stirring until smooth. Spoon your cake mixture into paper cases laid in cake tins. Bake for 20-25 mins until tops are golden and a knife goes into the mixture and comes out clean. Cool before you add your topping
