Ideas for your Pink Friday

Ideas for your Pink Friday

Would you like to organise a Pink Friday but don't know what to do? We have plenty of ideas and examples to give you inspiration.

Dress to impress

Cerise, magenta, rose or salmon – wear any colour you like, as long as it’s pink. A simple way to liven up your office or school for your Pink Friday is to get everyone to donate £2 and ask them to wear pink for the day. That could be anything from a pink pair of socks for the more reserved types to a top-to-toe pink outfit for those who really want to unleash their inner pink. Why not put together a dressing-up box of silly pink items for people to wear on the day if they dare?

Eat, drink and be merry

There are few things more tempting than cake. So why not entice your friends and colleagues into donating with some pink baking? A few pink fairy cakes will liven up your work tea-break no end. Or if you’re a whizz in the kitchen, why not cook a three-course dinner and invite your friends to come dine with you – in return for a donation to Breast Cancer Care of course. You could even theme your menu around the colour pink – prawn cocktail, salmon, strawberries… the list goes on.

Get the party started

Everyone loves a good old knees up, so holding a Pink Fridays party is a great way to have fun with your mates and raise money for Breast Cancer Care. The venue could be anywhere from your front room to a local community centre or even a pub. Just invite all your friends or colleagues to your party and ask everyone who attends to make a donation. And if staying in is more your thing how about inviting the girls over for a pamper party or chick flick fest?

Anything goes

There are lots of ways you can raise funds for Breast Cancer Care. It needn’t be a lot of hard work – it's all about having fun and making people smile. Can't decide between a cake sale or karaoke party? Maybe you'd rather hold a more unique Pink Friday?

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking pink and help you raise money.

Anything goes

I've been an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care for five years now and I always look forward to October. It's a chance to get all my friends and family together, have fun and make a real difference. Nearly 4,000 people people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this October alone. By holding a Pink Friday party, however small, you will help to ensure Breast Cancer Care can be there for each and every one of them. I'm going to see if I can organise one in the Capital Radio office this year - it's about time they donned some silly pink outfits!
